Shayne is a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. He became interested in Massage Therapy during his recovery process following an old injury. Feeling that progress with his Yoga practice was stunted from this injury, Shayne’s family physician recommended massage. After several treatments with a Registered Massage Therapist, Shayne was ecstatic to experience an increase in his range of motion and dissipation of his chronic pain, which enabled him to continue progressing with his Yoga practice the way he desired. He needed to know what his Therapist knew!

Shayne has a heart for helping people and loves that he can use his knowledge of human anatomy and practical skills as a Massage Therapist to approach helping others on their healing journey with intuition and empathy. He is happy to provide massage for wellness, rehabilitation or relaxation. His massage techniques include superficial to deep tissue work incorporating a wide range of Swedish massage, fascial work and joint mobilizations. Shayne has experience working with clients over a diverse profile of goals for health, wellness and recovery – from basic maintenance and stress management to more complex conditions of soft tissue injuries, joint replacements and fractures. He has successfully provided treatment to those experiencing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Long Covid, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s and Stroke.

A.J. is a proud graduate of the Master’s of Physical Therapy program from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to embarking on his Master’s degree, AJ completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at Fort Lewis College and returned to BC to work as a Kinesiologist in a variety of clinical settings.

Education, client-centred care and empowerment are at the core of AJ’s clinical philosophy. AJ’s motto is: “Motion is Lotion” - indicating that the more active we are, the better we feel with our overall health. This, in turn, supports living one’s best life - optimal function and minimal pain. He aims to facilitate optimization of his treatments by empowering people to take control over their recovery through the application of movement prescription. He notes that the skills he developed during his time working as a Kinesiologist have helped to enhance the exercise/movement prescriptions that he provides to his clients following each treatment session, enabling them to achieve better treatment outcomes.

A.J. facilitates improvements within an individual’s health, function, and pain control by using a combination of exercise prescription, manual therapy (Orthopaedic Division Level 1), electrotherapy (Ultrasound, IFC, Shockwave), and dry needling/intramuscular stimulation (IMS Level 2 - Kinetacore). A.J.’s interests include sports rehabilitation, manual therapy, and active rehabilitation. He is currently nearing completion of a specialist designation in Hand Therapy.

Travis received his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley and was an integral member of the Intuitive Kinesiology team prior to extending his education to massage therapy practice and obtaining certification from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy.

Travis enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions and injuries. His treatment will vary from person to person, depending on the injury and on the person. Each person is very different from the next and Travis believes strongly in an individualized treatment plan to optimize recovery and wellness goals. Generally, Travis includes relaxation elements (Swedish techniques) into the treatment along with stretching, fascial techniques, dynamic release, neuromuscular techniques, hot stone massage and joint mobilizations depending on the need.

Over his years of practice, Travis has focused his continuing education towards developing a better understanding of persistent pain and how to help manage it. He believes it is very important for each person to be able to manage their function and pain on their own outside of the treatment room.  He will provide each client with pain management strategies and exercises to help with this to ensure more effective treatments and more sustainable outcomes.

Outside of work, you are likely to find Travis on the local mountain bike trails.  He also takes advantage of the amazing BC outdoors, spending time hiking, backpacking, paddle boarding, or snowboarding in the winter.
